The other day, I had a very confusing day, thanks to my laptop going nuts on me. I thought for sure that I got infected by a virus or some malware. No matter what search I did on Google, I always got redirected to search results for “biometrics”.
It didn’t stop there. When creating a new post, the title field and time stamp kept reverting to specific data. It.drove.me.nuts.
And I panicked. I immediately downloaded Avast for Mac and did a full system scan, but everything was clean. Read More

Every single topic has been the subject of hundreds of blogs. Some were written for specific audiences, some came from less-than-reputable sources, and others were so poorly written that one can barely get through the first sentence. Those blogs don’t do well – what’s worse, they ruin the blogger’s reputation.
Let’s face it, search engine optimization as we know it is an ever-evolving, not dying, art. Gone are the days of simply throwing up a couple targeted keywords, dumping a ton load of miscellaneous backlinks and walking straight to the bank. Google is winning the battle against search engine manipulation slowly but surely. Though the vast majority of us are so mad at Google for it’s actions against web spam through algorithmic changes and direct penalization against particular website, we need to remember: a) Google is a private company and not a public service – they can do whatever they want with their toys and b) they’re in this for the long-run to make profits and please shareholders. These statistics are vital for reviewing your online business model and testing different messages that work. Google Analytics is a free tool that every blogger should be using to keep track of site visitors. If you haven’t yet created an account and started tracking, now’s the time. Your statistics tell a very honest story of how successful your blogging tactics are. Read More
