What am I missing?

To accomplish the same thing as this plugin do the following between the title tags. (Untested)

<?php if ( is_home() ) { bloginfo('name'); ?>» <?php bloginfo('description'); } if ( is_single() ) { ?> <?php wp_title(); ?> » <? bloginfo('name'); } ?>

Right?
