Podcasting Overhyped?

This is an article by Scrivs that I’m going to have to pretty much agree with. He makes some great points, so if you think podcasting is being a little overhyped, then go check it out.

I completely understand why people like Podcasts, but I don’t see why there is so much buzz about them. It’s nothing new for people to record some speech and post it on the web, but I suppose nothing was “new” with blogging besides permalinks and trackbacks.

WordPress Plugin: WImage Browser

This new plugin is an add on to the plugin Iimage Browser. It adds a few new features too the original plugin and takes what was good and makes it even better.

First, you can find the “Add All Coder & Close” link in the bottom-left corner of the browser window. Press it, and all the codes for all the images will be added to the post, and then the . This option is great if you want to mass-add all images in the directory (unless you want to click “Get the code” and “Add it to the post” on every image).

The second nice thingy is “Create mass thumbs”. It’s pretty self-explanatory, you can find it in the upper-right corner; it will create thumbnails for all the images in the current directory that do not have a thumbnail already created (those will be skipped). Again, this is very great for creating a gallery without going through all the images step by step.

Breaking $100 a Day in Adsense!

I did it! I finally reached my goal of breaking $100 in 1 day of Adsense earnings. $102.26 to be exact. It’s been a long time since I set this goal, but my goal was to reach it before the end of the year. I had no clue that I would reach it this quick, but doing some simple optimization over the past few weeks has apparently helped. I don’t know how many bloggers have managed this, but I think I may be the youngest at 23.

I won’t share too much specific information about which sites earned the most, but I can tell you that BlogCatalog and Forevergeek were at the top of the list. BlogCatalog reached a new traffic high yesterday and ForeverGeek was about 1,000 visitors off its high day so far.

I’m going to set some more goals here in the near future and start talking about what I can do to achieve them. I love blogging about that sort of stuff. I believe there is still plenty more I can do to expand and grow before I graduate college in December. The sky is the limit with blogging.

I’m also sure you’re wondering why there haven’t been as many updates here lately. It’s simply because I just got a bigger and better server and am having to migrate all my sites over, so it’s taking up a good amount of time at this point getting everything in place. I also have been working on some new blog related sites which hopefully I’ll be able to share a little more here in the coming weeks. I’m going to try to keep you updated as much as I possibly can though.

WordPress Plugin: Adsense Logger

This WordPress plugin makes use of the open source script Adsense Logger.

This plugin installs the Adsense logger, inserts the corresponding javascript into the footer and displays the reports within the admin interface. For statistics of your revenue, you have to enter your adsense username and password in the configuration of adsense logger. This adsense logger plugin uses the wordpress configured prefix for table creation for this logger.

If you want an easy way to track your adsense earnings and find what combinations produce the best results, then I recommend this plugin. Note that it is still in beta.

WordPress Theme: White Onion

Nokrev has just published a version of their old design as a WordPress theme. You can check out the theme in action here. It has got a very nice and simplistic approach to it which I always appreciate.

If you’d like to download it, you may download it here.
