It looks good, it’s nice that it uses ajax and everything. I’m not saying that these are bad things to stand out on. I just don’t think it warrants $30 worth of my money just for a nice design.

Fair enough. I, personally, think those things are worth the $30, but I certainly respect that you disagree.

Anyway, I’m not trying to offend anyone. It just seems overhyped and overpriced to me. That’s just my personal opinion.

You're not offending anyone. You've simply stated your opinion. David Peralty was offensive, but you certainly have not been. :)

You're right. Maybe that was a bad word. I don't actually think I've heard that word being used in reference to this(searched for it on Google and couldn't find any).

My main disappointment for the software comes from the fact that it doesn't really do anything special compared to other stat software that is on the market(both free and not free).

For me personally, the biggest difference between ShortStat and Mint is performance. ShortStat was painfully slow as the database grows. Mint is very fast. This might not matter, I guess, on a site that doesn't get very many hits.

There is also a dashboard widget for Shortstat...

I agree with you jacob, there is not much new to Mint, compared to the free Shortstat, besides from better look, and some expandability with Pepper.

Is it worth 30 dollars per site? Hmmm...

Oh, I don't care what word you use. My point is simply that I don't think anyone is claiming that Mint is an amazing new type of product. Those of us that like it are simply saying it does web stats in a better way for us than the alternatives. It's not revolutionary, or anything like it. It's just better than the alternative -- at least for me. If it's not better for you, then that's fine.

I just haven't heard anyone claim it is revolutionary. If someone did, I would argue with them. It's not revolutionary. It's just a well-put-together variation on an old theme.

Pardon me for using the word revolutionary. I can change it to something else if you'd like :P

I hope AJAX isn't really slow to load. Isn't that the new WP 1.6 "write" interface?

I see where you're coming from, but I'd have to disagree. It's not that it just looks nice at all. What about the expandability - through it's own forthcoming API. What about the dashboard widget. What about the ability to track new referrers through an RSS feed. What about the ability to track local searches on your website.

Sorry, but there is definitely more than just some pretty green colours. I agree that some graphs would be nice - definitely. But I'm sure they will come in time, when people start to exploit the API and expandability options.

Just my two cents.
