Apparently Wordpress.com has partnered with Flock. The Wordpress.com homepage has the message “Want Wordpress.com? Then download Flock”. After a little digging around, I came across this page. As it turns out, if you download Flock, you can get a Wordpress.com account without an invite. Anyway, so go download Flock now if you want an account.

1[...] The kicker is that WordPress is pulling a "Google" by making WordPress.com registration (at least at this stage of the game) invite only. There is, however, a way around this. WordPress.com has partnered with Flock (the new Firefox based browser) to offer WordPress.com accounts without an invite. So, if you are interested in getting a WordPress.com account (which is totally free, by the way), visit this link for a short how to (you have to go though a couple of steps to actually find the link from Flock to a free WordPress.com account).
