In my experience I've found that MT has more background requirements (perl, php, database, Movable type etc) which doesn't make it easy to set up. Once it is set up though I found MT much easier to use and administer than WordPress. I'm interested in seeing if SixApart included some of the more common plugins as part of the new release, or if they actually went out and re-designed some of the functionality of Movable Type. If they did a bit of both, then it will be way ahead of WordPress in my opinion.
