WordPress Plugin: Trackback Validator Plugin

An interesting plugin in order to try to stop all trackback spam has been created called the TrackBack Validator it is a WordPress plugin that checks to make sure the website giving you a trackback actually links to you.
Legitimate TrackBacks are sent by people commenting on your weblog, accompanied by a URL that points to that commentary. Spam TrackBacks are accompanied by a URL that points to a pay-per-click affiliate website or other irrelevant material. The Validator exploits this key difference:
1. When a TrackBack is received, the plugin retrieves the Web page located at the URL included in the TrackBack.
2. If the page contains a link to your weblog, the TrackBack is approved.
3. If the page does not link to your weblog, the TrackBack is flagged as spam and rejected.

I suspect that’s thereason general public want to read blog….Internet visitors generally create blogs to declare themselves or their secret views. Blog grant them same matter on the monitor screen what they specifically needed,so as the above stuffs declared it.

I realize this post was written years ago. But I was just looking at ways to battle spammy trackbacks on my own blog.
I find it ironic that the first comment on an anti-SPAM post is clearly SPAM. So annoying.
