So, was anyone able to find a download file and use the plugin outside of Wordpress.Com?
Or is it not available for download yet?

[...] Firefox crashing on me, WordPress misbehaviour, et all don’t happen to me all that often. But when something does go wrong, it usually takes The Best Post of the Millenium ™ with it. Autosave is a feature that has been present for years in word processors. It started to show up in web tools during the last couple of years, and I’d be glad to see it implemented in WordPress, as BloggingPro hints might happen very soon. But on the other hand, I’m not even desperate enough to install the plugin. Tagged as: autosave, backup, blogging, editing, Editors, tools, web, WordPress [...]

I second that. I hope 2.1 is coming soon. I understand from the bughunt info that it was going to be released simultaneously with 2.0.4 but that didn't happen. Can't wait 2.1 looks really good.

It's only in the SVN 'trunk' development branch right now, which is where 2.1 is being developed. Unless I'm mistaken, you won't be seeing auto-save in any 2.0.x release.

Thanks Roland, that is pretty much what I figured... If they come out with a 2.0.5 in the next few days to integrate this feature, I will be pissed... I just finished upgrading all my blogs to 2.0.4...

I've 2.04 installed - no autosave feature here. But I use the "Twilight Autosave" plugin for this, here:
