Design to Theme: ThemesPress.com

A new service is out called ThemesPress, it allows you to more or less automatically convert your XHTML/CSS based design into a WordPress blog theme.

Without knowing PHP, the system is supposed to let you get a WordPress theme in minutes. I have not tried it yet, but it even exclaims that the generated themes are Widget ready.

Give it a try now » For only $10, it’s a great deal. Before you buy, you can preview your design and make as many edits as you like. After you buy you will still be able to make all the CSS and setting edits you want in the future. Only the HTML will be locked from changes after purchase.

With ThemesPress, you can create your own WordPress theme in a four simple steps:

1. Upload the images your design uses
2. Copy the HTML and CSS of your design into ThemesPress [?]
3. Replace parts of your HTML with a few short tags
4. Set your presentation settings and preferences using our simple menus – and you are done.

Preview your design, edit it as much as you want, and if you like it, purchase it and download it.

The process seems simple enough. I have not toyed around with it much yet. Let me know what results you get and if it is a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” service.

Update: Wrong URL…Fixed now…sorry about that.
