Back up the database, and delete the blog until you are ready to use it again." Don't. Link rot is even worse than comment spam - by temporarily deleting a blog you're creating dead links and causing a problem for anyone who has ever linked to you. That's just rude, and I won't link to anyone who doesn't respect the "perma" in "permalink". “If you know you are not going to keep a blog up to date, shut it down. Back up the database, and delete the blog until you are ready to use it again.”

Don’t. Link rot is even worse than comment spam - by temporarily deleting a blog you’re creating dead links and causing a problem for anyone who has ever linked to you. That’s just rude, and I won’t link to anyone who doesn’t respect the “perma” in “permalink”.
