		<description>Fine...keep an html page up telling where you have gone, or what you have done, but don't keep WordPress sitting there unpatched, unprotected for long periods of time...it's just asking for trouble.</description>

Don't. Link rot is even worse than comment spam - by temporarily deleting a blog you're creating dead links and causing a problem for anyone who has ever linked to you. That's just rude, and I won't link to anyone who doesn't respect the "perma" in "permalink".</description>
