Matt Mullenweg, Mr. WordPress, has gone and updated his “dated” design. While it does look much nicer in my opinion, it feels wrong. His old design seemed to fit my perception of him much better than his new design. The red, and tablecloth looking background, as well as the ultra huge header, and image based navigation don’t scream the professional, but approachable guy that we have all come to know.

Also, there are little things that bug me. One thing that is pretty much universal for me is when people use next page to go to page two instead of previous page. I don’t know why it bugs me, but it really does. I have commented about the previous/next issue before on BloggingPro.

1The design looks cool, except that the pictures in header are very big. I second your opinion on “His old design seemed to fit my perception of him much better than his new design.”

2I so agree with you about the next/previous thing! I’ve always thought that, but I suppose since blogs are reverse-chronology and therefore the antithesis of a book, it makes sense.
It doesn’t matter, it still freaks me out.
