Hey Mike, thanks for the real world example. I am sure it was a slip up on Matt’s side, being the progressive thinker that he is.

I don’t think any less of you and your 2.0 loving. But when your year is up… if they won’t upgrade, move on…cause 2.1 rocks!

I’m surprised that he’s come out and made a comment like that. I’m using WP2.0 purely because my current host doesn’t have MySQL 4.0+ installed so does that mean I’m not serious about blogging just because I’m not prepared to chuck away 6 months of hosting I’ve already paid for?

Douglas – I agree with you, but I think that some people don’t like change, and really that is what WordPress 2.1 definitely is. I don’t think anyone should really say that you aren’t a serious blogger if you don’t update. But that’s just me.

I am a big 2.1 fan and so I definitely recommend the upgrade.

Having had a couple ‘Digg-type’ events on my site, WP2.1 kept up (along with WP-Cache without a problem. The ol’ 2.0 (even with WP-Cache) continuously crashed under pressure. I’m really impressed with 2.1 – it’s a huge leap ahead of any competition.
