WordPress 2.2.3 Released

Another security release has been put out into the world and will probably be the last one until WordPress 2.3 is released.

2.2.3 is a security and bug-fix release for the 2.2 series. Since this is a security release, we suggest you upgrade immediately. Two of the fixes are high priority.

Check out WordPress.org for full details about this and all patches for WordPress.

17 WordPress Plugins For AdSense

Over on Mashable, they have released a post that includes the 17 WordPress Plugins for AdSense. Some of which I have used myself, others that I have never heard of, but all in all, if you are looking for an AdSense Plugin for WordPress, this would be a great starting point.

Like it or not, many blogs survive thanks to Google AdSense – a fact that’s leading some to debate the use of ad blocking software. However, implementing and tweaking AdSense ads on a WordPress blog can be tedious. We’ve gathered 17 WordPress plugins which help you implement, control and overview AdSense ads on your blog.

WordPress Podcast: Episode 28

Charles and Aaron are finally back with another episode of the WordPress Podcast. This episode covers the WordCamp Event, Charles’ wish to hold one in Texas, and some news and announcements relating to WordPress.

I think there should be an East Coast WordCamp and a West Coast WordCamp because I want one closer by to me.

Besides that point, it is great to see the WordPress Podcast come back to life. Check out Episode 28 and let Charles and Aaron know what you think.

WordPress 2.3 Beta 2

Faster than a speeding bullet, WordPress 2.3 Beta 2 has been released. I am excited that things are rolling ahead so trouble free for the WordPress team. WordPress 2.3′s final release will be out soon and then they can start working on getting WordPress 2.4 and then WordPress 2.5.

From the WordPress Development Blog:

WordPress 2.3 will be here before you know it! We’re putting out a beta release every Monday until WordPress 2.3 ships on September 24th. Today the second beta drops for your testing pleasure. We’ve fixed a bunch of bugs in the last week — thanks to everyone who participated! That said, this is still rough code, so you should only test the beta if you are comfortable troubleshooting PHP issues, filing tickets, and backing up your blog’s data.

I used to complain about the constant release cycle, but now that I can update all of the blogs in minutes using SVN or Fantastico (though I wish the releases would come out for Fantastico faster), I really don’t mind the faster releases.

As always, I am looking forward to what comes out next.
