<description>Keep your old installs, Technorati lags your site because it crawls you constantly.

Seriously, I am getting hit very hard by them, 8,000 page views just from them in the past 24 hours, thats silly.

Prepared to be blocked Technorati, I never see any referrals coming from them anyway, ever.

Always is Google,Yahoo and MSN mostly.</description>

<description>thanx alot for this short alert on this topic. i just have checked the blogs i´m hosting as suggested above, and one of them had many spam-links, despite the fact i upgraded it to 2.5 shortely!

so what has happened?

at the end of march this particular blog suddenly showed up an empty index, so i checked it closely. it was an bad old WP-212-installation, and the header.php of the chosen theme had many many bad links in it. as far as i could see, the rest of the files were untouched. so i restored the last backuped header.php und made an upgrade to wp-25.

the problem seemed to be solved. until today.

the check of the site with firefox revealed the same links i found in march in the header.php. so some other file seemed to be infected too. i just installed the theme completely NEW, also the default- and classic-themes, and the links are gone now.

so folks, when upgrading your wp-installation due to securityreasons, best it is to reinstall and/or upgrade your themes to!

with best regards from germany
