I think you should remain platform agnostic – as you said, different blogging solutions fit better for different people/companies.

In terms of the Blogging Pro design, perhaps a polish is all that is needed – it’s a well known design, and it’s simple to navigate. If you end up going towards Thesis, make sure you get it changed away from the default look/feel.
