Donation Appeal For Typhoon Haiyan Relief Efforts

Over the weekend the Philippines was hit by a type 5 typhoon, the largest ever to make landfall there. The UN says that more than 11 million people have been displaced with around 600,000 now homeless, the death toll as of yesterday stands at around 1,700 to 2,500.

The BBC’s George Alagiah yesterday flew over the area to witness the destruction:
