Bustle is searching for a part-time Nostalgia writer for our Lifestyle vertical who is available two weekdays per week during regular office hours. This role requires extensive knowledge and appreciation for ’90s culture, which may include topics ranging from feminism, health, entertainment, and relationships, amongst others.
The writer will mostly cover evergreen content in the form of listicles (20 School Supplies Every Kid Had In The ’90s to 7 ’90s Dating Trends We Need To Bring Back Immediately to 7 Ways The ’90s Were A Super Feminist Time). That said, there is definitely room for first person essays and experiments about the ’90s (I Dressed Like Rachel Green From ‘Friends’ For a Week, although our section’s primary focus is Lifestyle, not fashion).
Ideal candidates should have at least 2+ years of experience in reporting, writing, and/or blogging. A minimum commitment of at least 2 days per week during business hours is required. Writers will work remotely.
As Bustle already has quite a large number of ’90s/nostalgia topics covered, this writer should bring a unique perspective, definitive voice, and fresh ideas to their work. Please make that clear in your cover letter.
- Interest and passion for writing about ’90s culture
- 2+ years writing experience
