Description
Amnet Systems, LLC, the U.S.-based editorial services division of Amnet, seeks freelance editors to help us with our growing workload of heavy, medium, and, sometimes, light copyedits of manuscripts by self-publishing authors. (If we think you're a good fit, you could have the opportunity to do other types of editing work too.) Topics cover everything from serious discussions of the Egyptian revolution to the latest teen romance.
Requirements
• Thorough knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word's Track Changes feature
• An excellent score on our editing test
• Responsiveness to constructive criticism and ability to adapt your editing based on written feedback
• Ability to meet short deadlines (our average is twelve days)
• Respect for hobbyists and ordinary people fulfilling their dreams of publishing
• A sense of humor and an open mind
Bonuses
• Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition, and other style manuals
• Experience in the self-publishing market
• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
