Description
A full-service marketing and communications firm in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Va., offers an outstanding opportunity for a meticulous copy editor with exceptional skills in writing, editing, and proofreading documents. This is not an entry-level position and requires a Secret security clearance. We seek an experienced professional who can write and edit content for public information, including Web content, fact sheets, and op-eds to name a few; catch errors and inconsistencies in project documents; and review all platforms for inaccurate content. The copy editor also will be responsible for applying formatting conventions such as consistent hierarchies of headings, subheadings, and bullets; logo placement; the insertion of footers; and the design of covers and tables of contents.
Qualifications include:
• Proven editing and proofreading skills.
• Superb writing proficiency.
• Strategic and creative thinking.
• Familiarity with AP, Chicago, and GPO styles.
• Sound judgment and compulsive attention to detail.
• Excellent communications, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Professional and diplomatic presence.
The position requires a bachelor's degree and minimum of two years of experience as a copy editor, preferably for an communications agency.
