G2 Intelligence – Editor, Laboratory Industry Report
G2 Intelligence (formerly Washington G2 Reports), provides timely, accurate, and trusted analysis of the medical diagnostics industry. We deliver content on legal and regulatory developments, business, technology, and innovation that directly affect the operations, financial performance, and competitive position of diagnostic testing laboratories and related medical service providers.
We are seeking a writer for a bimonthly periodical focusing on the business of laboratory and pathology medicine. This is a contract and telecommuting position.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Candidate will have primary responsibility for a newsletter covering lab and pathology business operations, diagnostic trends, benchmarking, financial performance, and mergers and acquisitions. Candidate should be able to understand financial reports, compare and contrast performance among companies, and analyze industry trends. Candidate will also contribute to online Web content and will occasionally be required to contribute articles to other periodicals. Candidate may also be asked to assist with planning of conferences and webinars. Candidate should be resourceful, able to perform online research and conduct interviews by phone and in person, and have a solid background in business and health care writing. Some travel may be required. This is a junior-level position that reports to the managing editor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or business
Minimum of five years of experience writing about the business and operational side of health care
Knowledge of the clinical laboratory and pathology industries preferred
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment
Self-starter
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work from home-office environment
Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Strong command of language and grammar
Excellent writing, editing and computer skills (including Excel)
Familiarity with content management systems a plus
A team player who is willing to learn and grow
