FREELANCE CITY EDITOR: Atlanta, Savannah, Orlando, Tampa, or South Florida

Occasions® is the everygirl’s guide to celebrating in style. We’re currently seeking a few enthusiastic team players, well versed in writing and editing to join our team as a Freelance City Editors in each of the local markets we represent. As a City Editor you work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to write and produce a variety of content across multiple platforms for our website and local editions of Occasions: Wedding in Florida and Occasions: Weddings in Georgia. Each City Editor will serve as the authority on all things weddings and special events in their local market. You will write and produce no less than 5 local blogs per week, have the opportunity to attend local events (should you choose), and most importantly deliver helpful content that is genuine and unique to our reader brides-to-be readers. The ideal candidate loves writing, but loves weddings and parties even more. She has a knack for party planning, a keen sense of style, great connections, extensive knowledge of current SEO practices and generally loves sharing new, exciting things with other people.

Responsibilities Include:

Write, edit, and produce 5+ blogs a week.
Pitch article ideas relative to her local wedding market.
Keep a sharp eye on performance of posts, social media strategies, and audience growth and engagement locally among readers and industry professionals.
Work closely with SEO team to conceive original content and strategies that engage the Occasions audience.
Write real wedding stories and other feature editorials for our tri-annual print editions.

We have openings for five city editor positions in Atlanta, Savannah, Orlando, Tampa and South Florida. Our ultimate goal is to fill each position with someone who is as passionate about party planning as Occasions is and who is committed to a long-term work relationship.
