Copywriter
Approximately 7 hrs/week contract position
Mom.com is seeking freelance copywriters to deliver outstanding editorial for our daily deals running in several local markets including: Boston Suburbs, Chicago North Shore, Chicago Western Suburbs and Minneapolis. Copywriters must be able to quickly adopt Mom.com editorial guidelines and voice, write engaging and persuasive copy and respond effectively to any necessary changes that flow from this fast-paced, dynamic and rapidly growing business.
Responsibilities:
- Write outstanding, concise copy describing Mom.com deals to consumers
- Make sure that copy is on-point with merchant goals and requirements
- Do research to learn more about merchants newspaper articles, Yelp reviews, etc.
- Find appropriate photos to accompany deals
- Translate creative direction into effective and engaging copy
- Take feedback from multiple stakeholders and translate changes back into original copy
Experience and Skills:
- 1-3 years relevant copywriting experience
- Exceptional writing skills, particularly the ability to stay on brand without sounding corporate
- Experience with / knowledge of marketing or advertising industry
- Familiarity with CMS and photo-editing tools
- Familiarity with daily deals sites a strong plus
- Highly organized and deadline-oriented
- Entrepreneurial and a self-starter
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
