Flightpath is an award-winning agency headquartered in New York City's Flatiron district. We deliver business-building digital marketing imperatives along with full-service creative and production capabilities. Our team members are a group of seasoned digital marketers who discover and mine emotional currency to create real business value for clients that include BMW, Merck, Goya Foods and Cablevision.
We are currently seeking an experienced, creative copywriter to work on a variety of websites, online videos and other digital marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will be talented at creating elevated copy that emotionally communicates the client's brand attributes and marketing imperatives.
Your primary responsibility will be to work alongside our graphic design team to understand content requirements and write consumer-oriented marketing copy for websites, instructional videos, and commercials. The digital copywriter will develop copy/storyboards according to client requirements, following an in-house process and style guide. The content developed should also comply with best practices for search-engine-optimized results.
This position requires someone who frets over comma placement, wonders if "website" is one word or two words, and believes that the dictionary and thesaurus are essential tools for life. To be considered for this position, you must provide creative, technical, or marketing writing samples.
B.A. in English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work in publishing, marketing communications, or technical writing
Experience in writing content for websites. Ability to write clear, concise, professional, search-engine friendly, consumer copy for websites.
Expert in MS Word, including style, formatting, and revision-tracking tools
Superior ability to identify errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, style, etc. Excellent command of American English
Must be able to work independently to meet established deadlines and conform to all specifications and requirements
Excellent time management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
Team player. Must work well with other writers, copyeditors, SEO experts, web designers, developers, and project managers.
Ability to follow complex technical directions
Most work can be performed on or offsite. However, candidates should ideally be based in the New York City area and available for onsite work and/or meetings as occasionally required.
