Earn extra cash as a Freelance Crime Reporter by covering your local police and sending their arrest records directly to us.
The right candidate would be expected to file multiple crime stories a month from the San Francisco area, and retrieve arrest records information two to three times per week.
Rates are $25 per story and $25 per agency visit resulting in the collection and timely delivery of fresh arrest records. Daily deadline for assignments is 12 p.m. (noon). You will be expected to physically visit the police department, which is located at 850 Bryant Street. There are also potential visits to other Bay Area law enforcement agencies as the need arises . This is not a telecommuting position.
This would is the perfect gig for a current freelance writer, possibly a journalism student or graduate looking for paying reporting experience, as well as seasoned veterans looking to supplement their income. This is a Freelance/Independent contractor opportunity only, so candidates should be currently active as a Freelance writer, or starting as a freelancer.
All interested candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
• 21 and over
• Clear criminal history background check
• Current driver's license
• Morning until noon availability
• Provide proof of vehicle insurance
• Computer / Internet / Smartphone / Fax savvy
• Complete CA State W-9 form
• Must be reliable, professional and exhibit the willingness to succeed!
