Description
JESS3, a creative interactive agency, is currently looking to contract freelance journalists to create daily web content. Applicants will be responsible for conducting interviews, writing features and writing profiles. Topics will include (but not be limited to) data visualization, corporate/workplace efficiency, information organization and social science. Since content will be published daily, applicants should be able to multitask by preparing for multiple interviews on a weekly basis and work under short deadlines. Applicants should also have a strong journalism background, have basic research skills, be comfortable with conducting interviews with sources through the phone, be familiar with content management systems such as Wordpress and be able to provide writing samples from previous journalism-related work.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with AP style
- Basic understanding of CMS
- Previous journalism work (writing samples)
Duties include:
- Interviewing targets via phone
- Researching specific topics
- Writing features or profiles on people/topics
- Analyzing data and then writing about it in a blog form
