Job Description:
Hesperidian Productions is currently recruiting freelance screenwriters to develop short and feature film scripts in collaboration with our Film department’s creative team. We are looking to produce narrative films that display strong storytelling and characterization, well-developed plot lines, fresh approaches to timeless themes and an original perspective.
Hesperidian Productions is committed to creating work of the highest quality. Our goal is to develop scripts that demand a high standard of achievement from our actors, director, production team and crew.
The writers will be paid by project and brought into an ongoing creative collaborative team. All scripts will be works for hire (if the idea developed comes from us) or will be bought (if we are interested in a script already developed by the writer). Payment is dependent on experience and project.
Job Requirements:
Ideally, candidates will have at least two years experience writing screen plays and/or film scripts. Minimum Requirements: a strong command of the English language; the ability to write realistic dialogue, psychologically-complex characters and well-constructed plot lines. You will be required to collaborate with the appropriate Hesperidian staff members, who will be part of the collaborative screenwriting effort through all phases and on each project. You will provide a final draft for production that ensures that both the Director’s and Producer’s requirements are met.
Additionally, the successful candidate will possess:
The ability to write with flair
Excellent organizational skills
Exceptional communication skills
Strong initiative
Great time management skills
Ability to work well within a group dynamic
Ability to work well with and expand current and ongoing creative projects
