The Clark College Foundation, founded in 1973, partners with Clark College and valued benefactors to provide financial support to Clark College students and programs. These efforts serve to improve educational opportunities and consequently, the quality of life and economic success of our community. Since 1999, the Foundation has directed in excess of $30 million dollars to support a wide array of programs, facilities and services at Clark College. We value philanthropy, integrity, innovation, stewardship, service, diversity and teamwork. The Part-Time Grant Writer will report directly to the Senior Vice President. This is a regular, part-time non-exempt position.
Position Responsibilities:
Acquiring a clear understanding of Clark College programs and needs · Identifying potential funding sources for applicable programs · Conducting extensive research into projects and grant-making organizations/requirements · Preparing accurate, exceptionally written and timely grant proposals · Tracking proposals/progress and maintaining records · Anticipating any grant process delays and ensuring timelines for requested information are achieved · Once funded, submitting progress reports to grant-making organizations in a timely, accurate fashion · Building strong relationships with the College, Board, Board Committees, Foundation team members, donors, volunteers and the community to further our mission.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in grant writing or related positions · A Bachelor’s degree plus applicable grant writing experience or background in a related field (to include Communication, English, Professional Writing); advanced degree plus applicable experience preferred · Proven results in obtaining funding for grant proposals · Superior writing, proofreading and interpersonal communication skills · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision · Collaborates with team members to accomplish organizational goals · Tactfully handles sensitive and confidential matters · Strong organizational abilities; must effectively handle complex/multiple tasks with strict attention to detail · Proven ability to meet deadlines · Self-motivated with an optimistic, creative approach to problem solving · Ability to grasp and analyze complex, detailed information · Enthusiastic about professional growth and development · Demonstrated passion for higher education · Computer proficiency; MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Crescendo and Internet · Experience using The Raiser’s Edge or other constituent relationship management software a plus · Previous non-profit grant writing experience and/or higher education experience is preferred
