Job Title: Grant Writer Contractor

Reports to: Development Director

Time: Approximately 10 to 16 hours per week

Hourly Rate: Range $35.00 to $45.00

Notre Dame Education Center (www.ndecboston.org ), a 501©3 non-profit organization is seeking an experienced part-time Grant Writer Contractor who provides support primarily for the Development Director and the Administrative Team. The ideal candidate will leverage a broad range of skills and a high degree of professionalism in managing a variety of responsibilities.

Summary:

The Grant Writer would be responsible for the administration of grant proposals to local, national, public, and private foundations. This position requires a confident, organized team player with excellent computer, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal), who can excel at multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. This candidate must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with the NDEC Administrative Team and Program Coordinators.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Acquire and maintain a sound knowledge and understanding of the NDEC mission, organization, history and educational programs either through one-on-one and/or in group meetings.
Research, identify appropriate private foundation sources, and analyze grant-making organizations in order to determine those that exhibit the best match for NDEC's need.
Develop grant proposals in accordance with the grant-maker's guidelines, preferences, and timelines.
Work collaboratively with NDEC Administrative Team and Staff to prepare grant applications and complete grant writing proposals with supporting documents for private foundations.
Assist Program Director to prepare grant applications and complete grant writing proposals with supporting documents for public grants.
In consultation with NDEC Administrative Team and Program Coordinators, assists in completing accountability reports in a timely fashion.
Prepare a timeline/schedule for each grant proposal that provides specific deadlines for each phase of the grant process and assist with the managing of tracking data.
On-site presence 5 to 8 hours per week required.
Qualifications:

Minimum of five years of grant writing experience.
Demonstrated grant writing success.
Exemplary writing, organizational and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Word© and MS Excel©
High degree of confidentiality.
