Are you outraged when people text during meals? Does it drive you crazy when people don't say "thank you" after you hold the door for them? If you feel passionate about proper manners and have a lot to say, we want you to be our new Modern Manners Guy, part of the Quick and Dirty Tips network (quickanddirtytips.com)
As MMG, you would be responsible for producing a weekly article/blog post that offers tips and advice on a specific manners/etiquette topic of your choosing. Each article is published as a blog post on the QDT website and recorded as an audio podcast to be released on iTunes. Topics will fall under one of the following broad subject areas: relationships & dating etiquette, dining & travel, personal hygiene, workplace, and events & holidays. Articles are around 1,000 words each.
No previous podcast experience is required. We're most interested in a strong writer who feels passionately about good manners and is just as comfortable when offering tips on proper Facebook etiquette as when giving advice on the proper fork to use at the dinner table.
QDT is located in New York City but you can work from anywhere. Compensation is based on how many podcast downloads each episode has and starts at $50 an article.
Modern Manners Guy is a part of the Quick and Dirty Tips network owned by Macmillan. QDT is currently home to 15 active podcasters/bloggers, such as Grammar Girl, Get-It-Done Guy, and Nutrition Diva, who create and distribute digital content that offers short, actionable advice to help people succeed at work and in life.
