Major responsibilities of the position include:
Manage the editorial calendar 11+ park newsletters. Work with parks marketing teams to develop and produce newsletters that are sent to 2 million guests every two weeks.
Prepare/provide 2-4 short (300-500 word) articles for each park newsletter. Develop readercentric, value-added content with limited source materials.
Survey guests to collect quotes, comments and feedback to incorporate into articles.
Proactively identify opportunities for new content as appropriate.
Collect and prepare ancillary newsletter content, including calendar entries, images, text advertisements, contests and other relevant materials.
Cultivate relationship with park marketing teams.
Assist other park groups with the production of their own newsletters.
Must be an extremely well organized, detail oriented project manager.
Proven experience managing many writing-type projects simultaneously.
Must be seriously strong-willed, highly motivated, tenacious, resilient, and resourceful.
Ability to build strong relationships with and support multiple in-house clients.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple, overlapping publication deadlines.
Stellar writing, editing and proofreading skills. Strong knowledge of AP style. Thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing and grammar.
Self-directed, independent problem solver with very little hand holding.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, english or related field.
Proven experience as a copy writer, news writer or similar. Marketing, public relations or journalism experience a plus.
HTML knowledge a plus, but not required. IT literacy a plus.
Demonstrated ability to develop engaging, fresh, and differentiated story angles.
Must be available to start immediately.
