Description
Time Out New York is currently seeking a talented and experienced Part-time Opera & Classical Music Editor, responsible for writing, editing, and curating our Opera & Classical section, in collaboration with the Music Editor.
Job Requirements:
• Take the lead in managing and editing the weekly live events listings
• Maintain the Opera & Classical Music hub page on the Time Out New York website, including acquiring, sizing and tagging photographs
• Assist in directing the editorial agenda for the Opera & Classical Music section
• Supervise Opera & Classical Music section interaction with other departments, including Copy and Design
• Write features, previews and reviews as needed
Professional Requirements:
• Detailed-oriented writer/editor
• Regular presence in local concert halls
• Availability two days a week
• Familiarity with InCopy, CMS, and database systems a plus
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with tight budgets
