Description
PCWorld is seeking a talented, motivated intern to join its editorial team. This intern will write and edit, assist in Website management, conduct story research, and engage readers through social media for PCWorld.com, the PCWorld.com Business Center, and PCWorld magazine.
Specific duties include:
+ Pitching, researching, and writing stories and blog entries
+ Pitching, gathering, writing, and/or assembling slideshows
+ Posting news stories and third-party content
+ Finding and inserting links to related content within new and existing articles
+ Collecting, editing, and resizing images for site publication
+ Maintaining PCWorld databases
+ Fact-checking, conducting pricing and consumer/vendor research
+ Participating in PCWorld's Twitter feeds, Facebook Friends page, and other social media efforts
+ Participating in research, writing, and creation of videos
+ Developing expertise in specific tech categories
Candidates who are currently enrolled in a college journalism or writing program are preferred, though we will consider students in any discipline, along with recent graduates or career changers. Successful candidates will be fully fluent in Web and social media technologies; special consideration will be given to those with a demonstrated passion for high tech. Image editing skills a plus. Typing skills are essential.
This is a six- to nine-month on-site internship at PCWorld's offices in San Francisco. The work week is flexible, but will not exceed 20 hours/week, at a pay rate of $10/hour. In addition, college credit is available to interns attending participating universities.
