Part time position (20 hours a week) supporting Matson's public relations department.
Responsible for writing, editing and producing Matson's employee newsletter. This requires interacting and working closely with employees at all Matson locations and at all levels within the company. As part of the production of company publications, responsible for arranging interviews, writing articles, ensuring articles reflect the company's goals and objectives, carefully clearing content with appropriate personnel, arranging photography and/or artwork.
Provide research, writing and print production capabilities for special projects and/or presentations as needed. Prepare internal announcements for Matson's intranet.
Develop copy for social media channels
Respond to various inquiries from the general public regarding numerous Matson issues, ranging from current information to historical research. Provide general support for the public relations department.
B.A. in English or Journalism preferred
2 -- 5 years of communications experience preferred, with background in producing written communications.
Must submit writing samples as part of the interview process.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Ability to work with all levels of a corporate organization in developing news stories about the company for the newsletter and intranet.
Willingness to take on support role tasks.
This is a part-time job.
