Description
Our leading arts and entertainment publication seeks an experienced proofreader to work onsite on a weekly, part-time basis. The proofreader will receive copyedited text and review it for style consistency, grammar, and typographical error. Additional duties include fact-checking, proofing of film/TV production listings, and assistance in checking layouts.
Candidates must be adept in a weekly newsroom environment and focused under deadline pressure.
The ideal candidate should have:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of three years’ experience copyediting a print and Web publication
Knowledge of AP style and standard English grammar
Facility in Microsoft Word and InDesign
Fact-checking and research experience a plus
Knowledge of film, television, and theater a plus
