Nashville Prep (www.nashvilleprep.org) is a new, tuition-free college preparatory charter school serving students of North Nashville. Its' mission is to prepare 100% of its' students for success in college. As part of its mission, each year a select number of committed and talented individuals have the opportunity to change the life trajectories of hundreds of students by working at Nashville Prep. We were rated the top performing charter school in Tennessee in 2012 and had the highest 5th grade results of any open enrollment public school in Nashville in Science, Social Studies and Math.
This person will be responsible for researching grant-related opportunities, supporting the program staff's proposal process, writing grant proposals and preparing supplemental materials and developing relationships with foundation and corporate representatives. You will research federal, state and local foundation and corporate grant prospects, manage and update grant information databases and prepare required reports for internal use as well as for funders.
This is a part-time position (10-15 hours per week).
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and previous grant writing experience. The successful candidate will have strong writing and research skills, be detailed oriented, possess strong time management skills and be proficient with MS Office. Above all, the successful candidate for this position is creative and relentless -- willing to use traditional and novel methods for gaining funds for our scholars. This position does NOT require the candidate be located in Nashville.
Compensation: We offer a competitive compensation package through hourly stipend/fee. The stipend/fee is based on qualifications/experience.
