Description

Who we are

7 Tutorials is a website providing quality content to Windows users. We teach people how to use the operating system, share best practices, help them troubleshoot problems and give recommendations on how to find help and how to secure their systems.

Our team is multinational, with members from Europe and North America.

Our quality writing got us featured on famous websites such as Lifehacker, How-To Geek, Neowin, Revision3 or AllTop. We were also nominated as one of the Top 3 best web locations for Windows users in 2009.

Editorial topics we are interested in

We are looking for editors to write on the following subjects:
  • Windows 7 (both basic and advanced tutorials): administration, customisation, networking, etc;

  • Reviews of technical books (mostly about Windows and other operating systems);

  • Reviews of security solutions;

  • Interoperability between smart-phones (Android or iOS or Windows Phone) and Windows 7 computers;

  • Interoperability between consoles (Xbox or PS3 or Wii) and Windows 7 computers;

  • Interoperability between Ubuntu Linux & Windows 7;

  • Interoperability between Mac OS X & Windows 7.

You don’t have to write on all subjects, you can choose any combination that best suites your knowledge and style.

The profile we are interested in

  • Able to write technical articles which are easy to understand by non-technical audiences;

  • Able to take great screenshots;

  • Owns and runs Windows 7 plus the other operating systems he/she is willing to write about;

  • Able to follow the style of our website and take writing suggestions like a pro;

  • Able to follow through a series of articles until its end, without too much follow-up from the other editors;

  • Not afraid to share suggestions and ideas for articles or improvements.

The rates we offer

We pay 20 to 25 US dollars per published article, depending on the complexity & type of article you are writing. Articles which need more preparation work (such as reviews for books or security solutions) will be paid more than normal tutorials.

Payments are made via PayPal or direct bank transfer (only Romanian residents).

We have also side projects running (e.g. writing books). If you participate in any of them, the payment will be negotiated upfront and will be separate from the articles published on the website.
