HelloWallet seeks an experienced online writer to generate a high volume of compelling, effective web content at a fast pace. You’ll ideally have experience writing interesting, keyword-rich content and copy for landing pages, email campaigns, and other online and offline marketing materials. You should also enjoy writing for long periods of time and about topics with which you are initially unfamiliar. Finally, we’re an energetic startup with big ambitions, so you must be willing to match that energy, wear multiple hats as needed, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Writing SEO-friendly content that includes strategic key-phrase placement within compelling marketing copy and maximizes opportunities for indexing, ranking, clickthroughs, and conversion
* Working in collaboration with our SEO team to brainstorm additional content that enhances the user experience and increases organic search engine traffic
* Writing other website copy as well as content for ads, emails to members, offline brochures, and other marketing materials
* Occasionally contributing to the HelloWallet blog
* Editing all other content that is produced by other people on our team
You must have:
* At least 1-2 years of experience writing content for the web
* A writing style that is appropriate for web publication and simultaneously eloquent and efficient
* A knack for quickly learning unfamiliar, potentially complex topics and subsequently generating content that is interesting, intelligent, and accessible
* A willingness to write about personal finance topics for long periods of time
* A basic understanding of SEO and other online marketing strategies
* A basic understanding of social media marketing strategies Perfect grammar
* A high level of self-motivation and the ability and desire to own projects
* An appreciation for hectic, high-pressure work environments
It would be nice if you also had:
* A degree in marketing, journalism, or communications
* Experience writing specifically on personal finance topics
* Experience working at a startup
* A deeper understanding of SEO and other elements of online marketing, such as user experience, information architecture, and content management systems
* An understanding of the user interface development process, including sitemaps, wireframes, and other architectural documents
