Job Description:
Position Details
Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
Work-from-home, set your own hours to meet company deadlines
Available immediately, but the start date is negotiable
Long-term contract position
$18-30/hr depending on experience
Supervised by Registered Psychologists
Responsibilities
Writing and editing clinical documents
Writing sentences and paragraphs from point-form notes and templates
Copy and stylistic editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and formatting Word documents
Completing detailed reviews of medicolegal, clinical, educational, and vocational records
Summarizing large amounts of information
Interpreting and summarizing non-clinical test results and information
Completing other writing and editing tasks as required
Updating or developing templates and adapting to changing procedures
Using a secure online database to download and upload information
Working efficiently to meet deadlines
Communicating verbally and in writing with psychologists and administrative staff located at multiple sites in BC
Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant field (such as English) and professional writing and editing experience is preferred, but those with an equivalent combination of a Bachelor's degree and experience will also be considered
Experience writing and editing formal psychological or clinical reports is an asset
Experience working in a clinical setting is an asset
Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Intermediate level of proficiency with computers (e.g., MS Office 2007, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Superior self-motivation and initiative with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines
Detail-oriented, reliable, professional, efficient, and flexible
Team- and client-oriented work ethic
Involves working with confidential information on vulnerable populations; therefore, a Criminal Record Check is required for the successful applicant
