Job Summary:

Blavity Inc. is looking for a Marketing Writer to help execute our SEO content strategy for our corporate marketing sites, including but not limited to Blavity Inc. and Talent Infusion.

This position is a (1099) Contractor responsible for expanding our library of evergreen content by writing articles based on the SEO keywords provided. The ideal candidate will have SEO and digital publishing experience, great writing skills, and the ability to come up with great SEO story ideas.

Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role.

This role will report directly to the Associate Director, SEO.


  • Write 1-6 compelling, SEO-optimized articles weekly and pitch as needed
  • Check articles for grammatical and factual accuracy and readability as well as, expertise, authority, and trust (EAT)
  • Publish articles in the CMS following online content formatting and basic SEO best practices to ensure well-structured and optimized content performance
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry experts by finding sources and conducting interviews as needed


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Required Experience:
    • 1-2+ years experience writing digital marketing content
    • 1+ years experience using WordPress (or other content management systems) to author, publish, and edit content
    • Knowledge of the latest AP Style guidelines, best practices for writing online, and a basic understanding of core SEO concepts.
    • An online writing portfolio demonstrating exemplary writing and content creation skills
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 2+ years writing to acquire customers via Google Search
    • Proficient with keyword research, on-page SEO, and content marketing best practices
  • Technologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, WordPress CMS, and Asana or comparable project management suite
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive and can-do approach
    • Comfortable performing research to ensure our information is accurate and as useful to readers as possible
    • Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
    • Motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills; willing to wear multiple hats
    • A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture


  • This is a fully remote, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required.
  • Candidates must be available to work at least 80% in alignment with the Eastern Time Zone.
  • The hourly rate for this role is $20 per hour.
