WordPress.com June Stats

Matt Mullenweg has released the June statistics for WordPress.com, and even more interesting than the raw stats is the information posted below them.
He mentions things like the fact that after English, the top languages using WordPress.com are Spanish, Turkish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Indonesian.
Another interesting fact is that the most popular desktop blogging client for WordPress.com is Windows Live Writer. Is it really that good?
And the last super interesting fact on the June update is that WordPress.com uses 3 terabytes of bandwidth a day. If you are a technology guy, let that sink in for a second. That means WordPress.com is pushing 90 terabytes of transfer a month.
Of course there is the usual stats which include some impressive information.

  • 122 thousand blogs were created.
  • 135 thousand new users joined.
  • 4,039 support requests.
  • 1.7 million posts and 687 thousand new pages.
  • 2.5 million comments.
  • 28.2 million spam comments blocked.
  • 2.2 million logins.
  • 240.8 million pageviews on WordPress.com, and another 71 million on self-hosted blogs.
