Viola Wohlt

I have a BA in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures (Chinese and English) and an MA in European, American and Postcolonial Languages and Literatures  (i.e., European Joint Degree in English and American Studies). My native languages are Italian and German, I have C2 fluency in English, B1 in Mandarin Chinese and B1 in Brazilian Portuguese. 

My years in university have led me to develop high academic writing and research skills and to master the English language, and have allowed me to specialise in topics ranging from U.S. politics and sociology to cinema, literature, linguistics, and more. My passion lies in writing and translation, and I love to work with all the different cultural and artistic expressions of the languages I know.

My work experiences include writing and translating subtitles (I recently worked for the Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival), proofreading of transcripts, audio to text transcription, website translation and private language teaching.

I am very eager to expand my resumé and to work on new and different projects altogether! I am a strong believer in the power of words to express feelings and ideas, and I am always in search of a good project to invest my mind and time into.
