My career spans almost two decades in marketing research, statistical modelling, and insights generation. I have a keen interest in consumer behaviour and the consumer journey. I hold a Doctorate in Marketing Management from the University of Pretoria. I was awarded the PPS Award for the best Doctorate candidate in Marketing Management, the SRC honourary colour for academics, and I am a Golden Key Honours Society member. In the past two years, I have successfully launched a spiritual healing practice, Being with B (www.beigwithb.com). I have published three children’s books (The Mystical Adventures of Bel series) and am working on three additional children’s books.
Throughout my career, I have worked for major local and global companies such as First National Bank (FNB), Experian, Kagiso Media’s Knowledge Factory and South African Tourism. My career highlights include successful project leadership in:
– Insight Activator project with South African Tourism, a qualitative study using focus groups to generate insight platforms that would assist in understanding international tourists and developing relevant marketing strategies to grow international tourism. This project led to a [specific outcome or result].
– Handling a project entitled Attractions and Experiences for South African Tourism that led to understanding the universe of tourism products within South Africa that could be offered and recommended to local and international tourists using consumer insights to match the tourist behaviour and tourism product.
– The VFR Domestic Travel project presented to parliament how to grow domestic tourism revenue within South Africa by converting those who generally travel to visit friends and relatives (VFR) into holiday travellers.
– Telecommunication company, Segmentation and Profiling project with Knowledge Factory, creating consumer segments and profiles through storytelling for a mobile connection product launch.
– A hotel and leisure Casino Gambling company project with Knowledge Factory, creating consumer profiles through a segmentation process, consumer insights, and recommendations on how to market to consumers for leisure and entertainment establishments.
– Providing qualitative research critical for the launch of the Smart product for FNB
– I have spoken at various thought leadership conferences and reviewed Management Sciences contribution papers.
