Shemiah Jona Estrella

I am a Political Science degree holder who finished Juris Doctor in my graduate studies. Currently, I am a lawyer by profession.

I started my legal writing experience in May 2018 when I was hired as a paralegal in a law office while attending law school. My job entailed the preparation of legal documents like contracts, affidavits and such. Most importantly, I wrote court pleadings such as case briefs, memorandums, position papers and the like.

During the pandemic, I was a ghostwriter of some lawyers in my city. I helped them draft their pleadings and court documents while grappling through the challenges of the lockdown and remote work arrangements.

When I passed the bar in 2022, my legal writing experience widened even more as I started handling cases for different clients and prepared a variety of legal documents for them.

In a less academic note, I have written fictions for fun and uploaded it in online platforms in more than one occasion. This leaned towards more of a hobby rather than a means to earn a living.
